Everything Electric Cars ("we", "us", "the platform") operates as an independent electric vehicle (EV) marketplace technology platform in Nigeria. We are committed to processing your personal data lawfully, fairly, and transparently in full compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 and the regulations issued by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
This Privacy Policy applies to all individual buyers, car owners, drivers, and partner representatives (dealers, mechanics, charger installers, and rental hosts) who access our websites, applications, and portal services.
2. Data We Collect
We collect only the minimum personal and business data strictly necessary to facilitate verified EV commerce, ensure transaction safety, and comply with anti-fraud laws:
Customers & Drivers
- Contact Details: Full name, verified email address, and Nigerian mobile telephone number.
- Delivery & Location: Delivery address, state, and city for vehicle shipment or charger installation survey.
- Order Data: Selected vehicles, charger specifications, service appointments, and rental reservation dates.
- Payment Verification: Bank transfer reference numbers and transaction receipts uploaded as proof of direct payment.
Verified Partners
- Corporate Information: Registered business name, CAC registration number, and operating license.
- Director / Representative KYC: Government-issued identity document (NIN, Driver's License, or International Passport).
- Settlement Bank Details: Nigerian commercial bank name, account number, and verified account holder name.
- Premises & Physical Inspection: Yard physical address, GPS coordinates, and inspection report logs.
3. Purpose of Processing
We process your personal data for the following lawful purposes:
- Facilitating Marketplace Transactions: Relaying inquiries, quotes, test drive appointments, service bookings, and rental agreements to verified partners.
- Partner Vetting & KYC: Verifying CAC status, matching corporate bank account holder names with registered business credentials, and recording physical premise inspections to eliminate fraudulent listings.
- Payment Notice Routing: Presenting direct partner settlement bank details to buyers and transmitting payment proof notices for order confirmation.
- Dispute Resolution & Consumer Protection: Investigating order discrepancies, non-delivery reports, or refund disputes in accordance with published service agreements.
- Security & Audit Logging: Maintaining cryptographic, tamper-evident audit logs of platform operations to detect unauthorized administrative actions.
4. Direct Payment Model & Financial Data Protection
Important Notice on Funds and Banking Information:
Everything Electric Cars is a technology marketplace, not a bank, deposit-taking institution, or escrow agent. All payments for vehicles, maintenance, chargers, and rentals are executed as direct bank-to-bank transfers from the buyer to the verified partner's designated Nigerian commercial bank account.
We never store debit/credit card numbers or online banking passwords. Bank transfer receipts uploaded by buyers are securely stored solely to notify the receiving partner and provide an evidentiary record in the event of an order dispute.
5. Data Masking & Access Controls
To protect user confidentiality, personal contact details (telephone numbers and email addresses) and partner bank account numbers are masked by default within staff consoles and administrative audit logs.
Platform personnel can only unmask sensitive data with a logged administrative justification that is permanently recorded in our cryptographic audit chain. We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal data with third-party advertising brokers.
6. Data Retention Policy
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the transactional, regulatory, and auditing purposes for which it was collected:
- Active Accounts: Retained for the duration of user or partner account registration.
- Order & Transaction Records: Retained for a minimum of 6 years following completion or dispute resolution, in compliance with Nigerian statutory accounting and tax regulations.
- Partner KYC & Verification Documents: Retained for 5 years after partner offboarding for regulatory audit trails.
